Buero Juvenile Theater Awards

Buero Awards Buero Awards

These awards, that pay tribute to the great playwright Antonio Buero Vallejo, offer school students and cultural center members between the ages of 14 and 21 years, the possibility to form their own theater groups and act before a prestigious panel of judges.

The Buero Juvenile Theater Awards are one of the most important juvenile theater events of our country. Sponsored by the Coca-Cola Juan Manuel Sáinz de Vicuña Foundation, with the support of the Ministries of Culture, Education, Social Policies and Sports and by the Councils of Culture and Education of numerous Autonomous Communities, its relevance has increased since the curtain rose in 2003 with a participation in the last edition of nearly 200 groups.

The Buero Juvenile Theater Awards are called the Ovidi de Teatre Jove Awards in Catalonia, Jaume Vidal Alcocer Awards in the Balearic Islands, García Cabrera Awards in the Canary Islands and Hermanos Argensola Awards in Aragon. Cobega takes care of the organization of these calls, in which more than 30 groups and 600 youth participate every year.
